Are they a group of people you already know, or just random people that gather at a parking lot because there is a lot of jalop cars?

Number #2 for me. But a lot of like-car groups of people meet up beforehand and go to the Cars & Coffee event together.

There are a lot of sites to find car shows in your area. Try these but do not limit yourself to them alone. Enjoy.

Google to see if there are events in the area. Then through shops and other car folk who know and tell me!

Typically, facebook page events. If you are looking for some meets, I can help you find some if you'd like me to.

There are several Cars and Coffee gathering, as well as gatherings with similar names across Europe, the Middle East and Australia. Where do you live, maybe you live near a metropolitan area? Depending on the gathering locations for certain meets you might have a bit of a drive or it might be nearby.

Oh man, I know somebody via the internet who lives in Mexico and the pics that she'd post of her car (can't remember what it was, it's been a long while since I spoke to her) and from what she described to me I could tell there was absolutely little to zero of a car scene. She did however mention there was a gathering once in a while but it wasn't for cars that one could even be the slightest enthusiastic about, aka any person in the States, since we would just consider them as nothing more than beater cars.

Yeah, the only thing worth mentioning is that Redbull brought to infiniti their F1 car, it was awesome, i studied it for like almost 2 hours. And i was alone there, nobody seemed to be interested.
Also Lotus brought theirs recently. That one was more restricted to get close and look at it.

Hi, I actually just created an open spreadsheet to keep track of all Cars & Coffees throughout the country (and I guess worldwide?)

I get sad when I hear about places that don't have too much car culture.

Yeah imagine living in a place like that. Its super boring, all my friends or people i know are stupified by soccer.
